End of an Adventure — 07.02.2025-11.02.2025

Welcome back to this super-duper awesome blog. Meow!

I am writing this already back home in beautiful Switzerland (a little gray and rainy but at least it’s not so hot here, yay). I have a bit of a bad stomach still, but otherwise I am fine. God gives the toughest soldiers the toughest battles (I get tummy ache).

I haven’t told you everything that happened in the last few days, but I will tell you a secret: On the day when I visited the MAP, I made a friend. I was also surprised of myself. And he suggested we could go to the Postal Museum. And because I never really plan anything and the museum looked cute, I agreed. In most museums and attractions you are sadly not allowed to take pictures and since the postal museum was a petite museum. Sadly, I wasn’t able to take pictures there. The Postal Museum was very cheap to get into (25 INR = 0.26 CHF). It was also charming. It had many old tools and post stamps. Not only that, but it had post stamps from all over the world, even Switzerland. Also, it had a few old PCs, Printers and Fax Machines.

After the brief visit, we went to a corner shop and ordered some sandwiches and some juice. I also got to try Pani Puri. It’s a thin shell of dough that is deep-fried and usually filled with potatoes, chickpeas and some spices. Also, it is dunked into some liquid. I didn’t like them as much and also I think I would have enjoyed it more if it hadn’t been dipped in the liquid. But the sandwiches were excellent. I think we had creamed corn and something else, which I can’t remember the name of it. But they were wonderful.

After that, I went to a cool bookstore called blossom. This book store was wild. It has 3 floors of old new and antique books. I think you could spend a whole day in there. It is filled with books up to the ceiling. I also found some books that I already read (A Little Life and Out). Since I have unfortunately already used up most of my cash, I could only buy one book. However, to be honest, this was a blessing in disguise since the baggage was already too heavy and we even had to buy extra kg.

After I totally forgot the time, I drove back to the hotel and we also ate dinner at the hotel.

Nana’s workweek is finally over. It’s Saturday and lots of colleagues are leaving today or already left last night. So we decided to take it easy today and just visit the National Gallery of Modern Arts. And as soon as we were finished with getting out of bed and getting ready, I got a text that my new friend Puneeth was planning to go also there to work on his podcast and also to meet one of his friends.

So we first walked through the whole gallery, which was stunning, and it also totally reminded me of like a video game location. The exhibition was about “Nemma Mestru”. They created on different mediums like etchings, acrylic plates, different boards and tools. I really liked their sketching’s with coal and ink, all the photo collages and mixed media.

After we walked through the whole exhibition we went to the cafeteria we meet with Puneeth and their friend Ishita. We had a really great time this evening and even went to a “Chai Store” right down the road.

The Tea is special. I really like Masala Chai, which is mostly made with milk and some sweet black tea. It can be mixed with various spices like ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and countless other spices.

On the basically last day, we woke up really early. And went to meet Puneeth again but this time at the Lalbagh Park. The park is huge and has numerous attractions, like a glass house, which was built in 1890, the lake, which was just magnificent and also a temple on a stone.

Since we went so early the entry was free, which was very convenient. After the park, we went to MTR which is a simple restaurant that serves local and authentic south Indian food. Such as Rava Idli which is a steamed semolina cake made from yogurt, coriander, cashew nuts and curry leaves. It was invented by MTR and it is still served today. They also served Masala Dosa. And I tried Dosa before that, but this was the best Dosa I had during the whole trip. Also, their almond milk (hot or cold) was very delicious, and it was mixed with some saffron so it had a beautiful yellowish color, and it was also lightly perfumed by it.

After the very delicious breakfast, we met up with Ishita again and went to a “Play Area”. And we did plenty of things, like bowling, shooting, go-kart and Ishita and Puneeth even drove on a Quad on an off-road track.

But to be completely honest, we were really exhausted. And soon went to the hotel to just pack and get ready for our flight.

10-11.02.2025

We had the flight in the early morning on the 11th. So we just relaxed and packed the whole day and got ready around midnight to go to the airport and fly to Doha. I was surprised that everything worked really well during the security and the baggage check-in. Even the Film rolls were never a problem. Neither in Bangalore nor in Doha. In Doha the security guy I asked immediately recognized what it was and took care of it.

The only unfortunate part was that both me and Nana felt a bit sick and me especially had terrible stomach pain during the flight, which was quite annoying. Surprisingly, we were able to sleep during most of the flight.

We also had an unexpected stop at Istanbul during the flight from Doha to Zurich. Since the plane had technical difficulties. But luckily, we didn’t have to leave the airplane and waited around 2 hours on the plane until the engineers could fix it.

We should have arrived at 13:30 in Zurich, but since we had a delay we arrived at 15:30. I think it could have been way worse. So I was quite relieved when we just went home with an UBER.

Fun fact that Uber costed around 50 Swiss Francs. In India, we took 23 rides averaging around 4 Swiss Francs. So for that amount of money we could have taken more than 10 UBER rides.

But it’s good to be back home. I like our apartment. It just smells like home. It also feels good to cuddle with the “right” Blahaj again. Yes, I bought a Blahaj in Bangalore for that exact reason, but the Blahaj back home is slightly different and also has a ball in the stomach (essential detail).

But yea, thanks again for reading all of my rambling. It was really fun to create this sort of travel blog.
Until next time
Luna
